The Owner of the Mumbai Metro is Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority wchich is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It has Three Phases and Number of stations are 12 (Line 1) at present. The Daily ridership is estimated as 1.5 million (Line 1 estimate).
The Length of the Metro train is  4-6 coaches. The train has Track gauge of 1,435 mm (4 ft 8 1⁄2 in) and it will have the average speed 33 km/h (21 mph) and Top speed will be 80 km/h (50 mph).

The Mumbai Metro system serving city of Mumbai to reduce traffic congestion in the city, and it will be built in three phases over a 15-year period.  It is expected to be completed in 2021. On completion, the core system will have three high-capacity metro railway lines, with a total of 63 kilometres (39 mi). This Mumbai Metro is operated by Mumbai Metro One Pvt Ltd (MMOPL), a joint venture company formed by Reliance Infrastructure, Veolia Transport and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).

On June 2006, then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh inaugurated the first phase of the Mumbai Metro project, and then construction work started in February 2008. A successful trial was conducted in May 2013,  then finally today 8th June 2014 Mumbai Metro has started its operations.
